What do you need help with today?
Sonja Johansson has been teaching the Feldenkrais Method since 1999. She takes her years of experience in the fields of dance and theatre performance, fitness training, anatomy and kinesiology and integrates them with the Feldenkrais Method to create powerful, life changing programs. Working primarily with performing artists, athletes and those recovering from injury, Sonja also has a special focus on aging adults, particulary those dealing with balance issues and neurological conditions.

The evening class is designed for the newcomer to the program who wants to get in touch with a more efficient and effortless way of moving. In this class we clarify everyday movement patterns that sometimes cause pain and fatigue. Here you will learn the movement vocabulary of the Bones for Life program.

To participate in class you must be able to get down to the floor, and comfortably lay on your back or side.

Learn secrets from the Feldenkrais Method that will enable you to move easily through the Pilates exercises and develop a balanced, strong body. Sonja will reveal the muscular and skeletal action required, while guiding you to release unnecessary and counter-productive muscle involvement. In Pilates Fundamentals you will learn strategies and tools to help you move with more freedom and grace - both in class and in daily life.
Originally named 'Contrology', Pilates is a system of exercises developed to strengthen muscles focusing on the core. This class uses the principles of the Feldenkrais Method to illuminate and clarify Pilates exercises. Perfect for those new to Pilates or who have struggled with Pilates mat classes in the past.
This class is perfect for you if:
- you have never done Pilates but want to try it out
- you are out of shape and want to start a safe exercise routine
- you are injured or illness prevents you from taking a regular class
- you've found Pilates classes too challenging in the past
- you take Pilates class regularly and want to improve your form from the inside out
Please dress for movement and bring a towel.
