About Sonja

Sonja Johansson has been teaching the Feldenkrais Method® since 1999. She takes her years of experience in the fields of dance and theater performance, fitness training, anatomy and kinesiology and integrates them with the Feldenkrais Method to create powerful life changing programs.
Working primarily with performing artists, athletes and those recovering from injury, she also has a special focus on aging adults, particularly those dealing with balance issues and neurological conditions.

Feldenkrais Week May 4 - 133, 2012
Feldenkrais Week is an annual, international, community event celebrated each year from May 4 -13. The mission of Feldenkrais Week is to foster public awareness of the Feldenkrais Method with Feldenkrais guilds around the world promoting events and classes hosted by guild members. By offering free or low cost events we invite newcomers to experience the many benefits of Feldenkrais.
All events listed below (except for Feldenkrais Festival) are hosted at the Balance Center and are taught by Sonja Johansson.

Introduction to Pilates: a Feldenkrais Fusion

RECOGNIZING PILATES DAY

Originally named 'Contrology', Pilates is a system of exercises developed to strengthen muscles focusing on the core. This class uses principles of the Feldenkrais Method to illuminate and clarify Pilates exercises.
Perfect for thos new to Pilates or who have struggled with Pilates mat classes in the past.
Please dress for movement and bring a towel.

An Introduction to the Feldenkrais Method

Functional Balance Workshop

Are you at risk of falling? Has your balance deteriorated in recent years? Then join us to learn practical strategies for improving equilibrium using the Feldenkrais Method.

The evening class is designed for the newcomer to the program who wants to get in touch with a more efficient and effortless way of moving. In this class we clarify everyday movement patterns that sometimes cause pain and fatigue. Here you will learn the movement vocabulary of the Bones for Life program.
